Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI), one of the leading automobile industry of India is back in the news once again. Company has finally shipped a new model for it’s one of the prodigious bike in the two wheeler segment named as Honda Dream Yuga with HET technology. The price of this bike is kept as the same and retails for Rs 45,101 across the nation. Company claims that this new version of Honda Dream Yuga will deliver a better and improved fuel efficiency of 74kmpl up by 2kmpl from the 2012 version.

However, this HET technology is not for the first time by the company, recently, company showcased the new edition of it’s one of the high selling entrant in the two wheeler scooter segment familiar to us as Honda Acitva by introducing it’s new version powered with the same HET technology . The new model which was fitted with HET technology was further named as Honda Activa i which gives an all over improved fuel economy as compare to the earlier one.
All the other specifications and features are the same as the earlier edition. It is still available in three variants – Kick/Drums/Spoke, Kick/ Drum/Alloy and Self/ Drum/Alloy and in five colours. Specifying it’s power train specifications, this new version is powered by the same 110cc single-cylinder engine which produces 8.5 BHP of power and 8.91 Nm of torque, mated to a 4-speed gearbox. The company claims a mileage of 74 km/l, which is a 2 km/l increase over the previous non HET model.
Honda says that they have so far sold three lakh Dream Yugas since the motorcycle went on sale last May. The top-end Yuga comes with tubeless tyres while a maintenance-free battery and viscous air filter are standard equipment. It is expected to see Honda will ‘HETify’ its other motorcycles like the Shine, Stunner, Unicorn and the recently launched Trigger.

This new version of Dream Yuga will compete against a number of competitors, most recently against the Passion XPro, Pantero and the Discover 100T.
It may be not good in styling as compare to other competitors but with this new fuel efficiency technology we hope that it will give a tough fight against these bikes.
