Japanese auto manufacturer Honda has launched new automatic transmission variant of their successful compact hatchback Brio on October 18, 2012. When first launched, Brio created quite a stir in the market with its nice look and compactness and is the main factor which made it as a correct option to owe with. Now with introduction of its Automatic version, company is again looking to create similar results as this one is now one of the most affordable Automatic hatchback in the market.

The new Brio Automatic is equipped with same 1.2 litre iVTEC powertrain, which was earlier serving on the manual variant having 5-speed automatic transmission.

The automatic transmission will make this car easier and comfortable to drive in the rural areas and as well as in the busy traffic which is in every part of India.

The automatic Honda Brio comes with two variants namely Brio S (O) AT and V AT. The base version of the Honda Brio has been priced at Rs 5.74 lacs, whereas the top model of the newly launched Honda Brio V AT comes with a priced place at Rs.5.99 lacs.

There is a new torque convertor system has been used by new Honda Brio, whereas most automobile manufacturing companies have CVT transmission. It means with the all new 5-speed unit on Honda Brio there are three more shifts besides the regular P,R,Nand D. The D3 position is basically used to restrict the transmission up to 3 gears only, which will be very useful for making the pick up more fast. This transmission Utilizes the Drive -By-Wire system of the power-train which will help in optimizing the best suitable gears as per need.Due to this excellent gear shifting means that Brio will offer an mileage of 16.5 kmpl, which will be very good upto his standards. It has been test by ARAI.

The Japanese manufacture has not make such changes except in the automatic variant. Besides the automatic variant Honda also introduces a new model with it and it priced at Rs.4.26 lac and it has one added feature like body colored Outside Rear View Mirror (ORVM). Keeping the festive season in concern they have loaded 1 DIN MP3 audio system for USB and Aux-in-support .

It would be interesting to watch will Brio AT will define the same road of success through it manual counter part.
