Tata Motors, one of the prodigious automaker in India has unveiled the special edition of Safari Storme specially designed for mountain rescue and hence named as," Tata Safari Mountain Rescue Suv".

The special edition has been built specifically for the snow covered nations. The Storme Mountain Rescue is equipped with off road tires covered by metal chains. This enables the Tata Storme SUV to pass over the on snow covered paths. Other features included in Storme Mountain Rescue are a roof top cargo box, winch positioned at the front bumper, giant flash lights and a snorkel air intake. The Tata Safari Storme Mountain Rescue is available in bright red body color and red & black upholstery for the interiors.

Specifying it's Powertrain specifications, the Safari Storme retains the 2.2 Liter VariCor turbo diesel engine that outputs 140 Bhp-320 Nm and the transmission is a 5 speed manual gearbox

Hyundai Motor India Ltd, the country’s largest passenger car exporter and second largest car manufacturer has launched a special edtion of it's most selling and successful flagship model  named Hyundai i 10 i Tech in the Indian market.

The Special Edition i10 has host of first-in-the-segment innovative and high-tech features like Rear-View parking Camera and Electro-Chromic function on cabin rear view mirror and Steering-mounted Bluetooth device. On the exterior, the styling is complemented by sporty ‘i Tech’ body graphics. Inside the cabin, it has sporty interiors with dual tone red and beige upholstery seats with red dashboard and door armrest inserts. The special Edition i10 will be available in 1.1 ltr Era and 1.2 ltr Magna variants.

BMW, one of the largest and premium manufacturer in luxury cars has launched their most prestigious element in X series in India named,"BMW X1" in the Indian market.

Available in three trim levels and only in diesel, the new X1 will take on the likes of the Audi Q3 and upcoming Volvo V40 Cross Country. On the outside, BMW has made slight styling enhancements on the X1, starting with LED corona rings on the headlamps, new air dams, chrome finish on the higher trims and a new bumper.

Under the hood BMW has plonked in a tweaked variant of the 2.0-litre 4-cylinder diesel engine which now produces 184 PS of power and also gets a new 8-speed automatic box. All the X1 variants now come with Eco Pro mode and brake energy recuperation as standard and BMW claims improved fuel efficiency as well.

Renault India Private Ltd, one of the leading giant in automotive industry has launched the automatic version of Scala at a price tag of Rs 8.9 lakhs. Renault India private Ltd is a fully owned Subsidiary of Renault S.A. 

The base petrol model is powered with a 1498cc XH2 engine which cranks out a power figure of @6000rpm and a torque value of 134Nm. The engine comes mated to a five-speed manual transmission gearbox to deliver a mileage of 16.95kmpl.  Renault Scala RxE is adorned with features like keyless entry, follow me home headlamps, tilt adjustable electric power steering, ABS, speed sensing auto door locks and anti theft device.

Expressing his views on the occasion, the Managing Director of Renault India, Marc Nassif was quoted as saying, “With more and more cars on the road as well as frequent stop-and-go traffic, India has been seeing an increase in demand for automatic sedans in recent years. However, despite the growing interest for these cars, petrol automatic vehicles are still limited to a 6 per cent share in the premium sedan segment because they deliver lower mileage and higher cost of ownership.”

He further said, “The Scala X-tronic CVT aims to bridge this gap by offering class-leading fuel efficiency, reliability and performance.  Honda provided the world with its first look at the new GEAR Concept Study Model – a vehicle that demonstrates Honda’s innovative approach to providing the automotive answer for young, urban, Gen-Y lifestyles.

Inspired by fixed-gear bicycles, GEAR is a concept that represents an entirely new way of looking at the sub-compact vehicle. It is simple and utilitarian, but also customizable, connected and full of personality.

“Subcompact cars are usually either utilitarian, but uninspiring or they’re fun, zippy cars that are impractical and too expensive for the Gen-Y buyer,” said Dave Marek, Design Director at Honda R&D Americas, Inc. “GEAR Concept tears down those walls – it’s practical but fun, customizable, connected and affordable. Everything that young, discerning urban buyers would want in a car.”

Shelby has modified the new Ford Focus ST, creating its first hot hatchback in nearly 30 years.  Unveiled at the 2013 Detroit motor show, it’s somewhat more enticing than the 1986 GLH-S.

The new Shelby Focus ST represents the first car in Carroll Shelby’s “playbook” for the future of the brand. It will be featured with  Ford Racing suspension, Borla catback exhaust, upgraded interior, new wheels and tires. A  choice of three different graphics packages can be expected,  Power – for now – remains unchanged at 252 hp out of the 2.0-liter turbo I-4. Shelby’s currently working on a performance tune for its Focus that will boost power between 30- and 60-hp, while still remaining emissions-legal and running on pump gas. Starting at $14,995 (plus $24,495 for the donor Focus ST), the pocket rocket gets Shelby-spec brakes,

The tuned Focus gets lower, Ford Racing suspension, new wheels and stickier tyres as well as larger, drilled brakes discs and a Shelby/Borla exhaust to boost the ST’s burbling soundtrack. On the outside, there are functioning bonnet vents, tweaked front and rear grilles and a beefier rear spoiler.     I just bought a second hand Hyundai Accent recently and while i drive it at high rpm it's engine start nosing. Sometimes, it creates irritation and sometimes it creates tension in my mind.
