Title: Maruti Suzuki Swift Diesel: High Oil Consumption Problem
Post by: Akshay Batra on November 22, 2012, 11:53:12 AM
Hi,
My and my dad went to Delhi from Jammu and Kashmir  the journey would be around 2000km as per my record and what was the main problem that i was notifying that it took 2000 ml oil to run for 2500km. It's shaky problem i know but how can it be possible, such high oil consumption didn't know what to do. My dad is looking to sell it, but i think it is the one of the best car in looks that can be afforded at such price. I want to keep it. If someone with valuable information please let me know as soon as possible. Your opinion will be helpful.

How do you know it used up 2 Ltr of lubricant oil , did you measure it ?
Do you see excessive smoke coming from exhaust or preferrably black smoke?

If yes, then may have sticky rings or may be your engine is doing and looking for a bore, you may try oil viscosity enhancers and see if it helps as sometimes such small efforts helps a lot.
