Hello,

Looks like this place need some more life, hopefully soon we will have members sharing their bikes and cars pictures. For time being , I am sharing picture bike of Mr. Rajesh Chauhan, I have taken his consent, he is an Royal Enfield die-hard fan. Currently he own two bikes, one is machismo 500 and other he owns RE lightening. Hopefully he will himself share pictures and details about his lightening . Currently I am uploading one picture of his bike. I have more pictures but they didn't look good when uploaded to PC, I will ask him again to give me some good snaps.

So, you can see his bike, he has done chrome job on fuel tank, actually fuel tank is lot wider, it doesn't wider look in this picture. Also, you can see he has this wider and taller handlebar. Also, he has done some  job on seats to make them more comfy, you can see new classic's tail lamp, actually bike looks far more clean and impressive in real life than picture.

Believe it or not, I have driven it, its a real head turner with its all free flow pipe. I see heads turning when I ride my TB but when I rode this one, I felt that even more people are noticing you. Also its seating position is very good for long riding, felt like I am sitting on my couch.

Ya, that is something unique about RE , they have good CC to mileage ration :)
But they have bad size to power ratio .. 350cc gives 19.6 Bhp.. while new Yamaha R15 gives 17.5 bhp for 150cc..

And yes, the bike of Sajjad which is R15V2 gives milage of only 26-28 onroad in city ride.

I have already taken leap and ordered wider handlebar , but I dint get the wider I wanted, the one I received is 10 cm shorter, he promised to get me wider one, I will talk to him today..

Below I am attaching image I just clicked for you, handling is now superb, it really gives you feeling of better control over bike. Just to tell, its Yamaha RD350 handlebar in thunderbird.

I think you should not worry about this, I know this is very simple issue and I think it is coming from the chain, you need to replace chain interlock. But before that just have a close look and let us know if it is really your chain .

Bikers Lounge / Re: RE Thunderbird - Rear end wobbling at 60kmph
« on: October 31, 2012, 07:00:12 AM »
First of all, congratulation for your recent trip, that is was makes RE owner  stands out from others.

Regarding wobbling, in your case there could be various reason but here I think as you had flat tyre, it could be something like imbalanced tyre due to improper fiting as we see in cars, sometimes while getting flat tyre repaired, there is issue of tube not properly settled at center (mechanic calls it "Center out" problem) . Also the level of wobbling you mentioned strengthen the fact that its not properly settled tube inside the tyre.

You may take out all air from tyre and refill if after tapping tyre firmly at all various places and see if it helps.

Beside, you suspect it could be swing arm at fault, we you can test it  yourself, when on center stand, check if rear wheel is firm or by checking it yourself.

Here is another one I am sharing, this is actually I saw on some website where the owner wanted to sell it, this bik is again clean and nice work.

Its an  1999 Machismo with all those custom work.

Since our community is new, I am taking initiative to share some good modified and customized Royal Enfield aka Bullet pictures. You are invited to post pictures of bullet you / RE you find interesting and it would be great if post pictures you clicked in reality. It doesn't matter if its your own bullet or not but you can share here because you share the passion of THUMP.

I am sharing first one below:

What I liked about this is the sheer amount of  work has been done it yet it is clean.

NOTE: If you happen to be owner of any bike in this thread then please let us know, we really want to appreciate you for customization of your bike

You mean that cast-iron engine was being used from 1950s till year 2000 ?

This is not a very hard question, go for Yamaha R15 V2 if you are looking for realy sporty bike and if you are planning to have some long trips then Honda CBR 150R is better.

Actually I have been that page already and have done lots of research before making this request.  You see I am looking for touring part only and now days I am also considering pair of saddlebag but really those side box comes really handy.

Bikers Lounge / Wider Handlebar for RE Thunderbird bike
« on: October 11, 2012, 12:17:02 PM »
Hi, I am planning to change handlebar for my thunderbird, the current one ie. the stock handlebar is fine but I am looking for wider handling setup. I am looking something like following :

The above is taken from vardenchi modified RE.

However, I am not looking for something very wide or very tall, infact should be shorter in elevation than stock TE handle bars.  So, can I swap it with some other bike's handlebar which will give me the desired holding position or I may need to go for something custom ?
