A house in China lie in the middle of the motorway. Niu Chuangen and Zhang Zhongyun are the two owners of this house falls under Senior Citizen category. Many Property Developers from Zaozhuang in Shandong province offered the elderly couple ample compensation to shift their residence but their offer was turned down as the couple felt that the compensation was not substantial to allow them to build another house. This left the developers with no other choice but to go ahead with plan and build the motorway around their residence leaving the couple with a busy roadway and skyscrapers around their tiny spot of land.
Both the elder people also stated, that they had to contend with local gangsters who threatened them, essential facilities being cut off due to digging around their premises but they were not deterred and have continued living in their home despite neighbors shifting out. In People's Republic of China during the Communist Era, private ownership of property was abolished which was easy to get residents to vacate the property by force. However, laws have been changed and it is now illegal to demolish property by force without a valid agreement.
