Price for used Yamaha RX135 2003 model
« on: October 31, 2012, 03:31:41 PM »
Hi,

Just a friend asked me to give him advice as  he is considering to buy a Yamaha RX135 2003 model, I dont' know why he is buying it but I think he loves the retro styling and power of this bike. I know it was a legend in 90s but now there so many alternatives available. So my question was how much should he pay for this bike which has done around 30000 km on odometer and the seller is actually 3rd owner. Engine of the bike looks good but last owner has not serviced it form long term and also both tyres need replacement as are worn out. I don't have experience of Yamaha 2 stroke bike so I headed to this forum which I have recently joined and it looks good place to ask... so please advice.

I think Rs. 15-20K should be fine for this bike but remember to check engine condition, its better to get it mechanics though if you have experience (which you don't have) you can get sufficient information about bike in one ride.

If both tyres are gone, then it is not even worth 15k. Tyre replacement will cost arourn Rs. 3000 at the minimum, so the asking price can be 12k only. If the bike is maintained well, i mean paint look and smooth engine then 15k can be considered. Is it 4 speed or 5 speed, RX135 or RXG?

And also the price depends on where in India you are located. Metros will be costly, small towns will be cheap. In Bangalore you will have to spend 20k minimum to get a battered rx135. It makes sense to buy bikes from smaller towns ofcourse from the same state(so that you need not register the bike again).
