Mahindra has launched its commencement Ssang Yong product SUV Rexton. As 70% share of SsangYong was acquired by India’s Mahindra & Mahindra Limited in February 2011. The car is available with two variants Mahindra Rexton RX5 MD and Mahindra Rexton RX7 AT.
The car is available only in the two cities mainly in Delhi and Mumbai initially later the car will be move on sell in other cities as well. This is Mahindra’s first vehicle launch after they took over the Korean company Ssang Yong. The car is made with sophisticated styling, having luxurious interiors and superior handling. An Electric sunroof with tilt/open function, Cruise control and many more such high-end features that would attract a heavy bunch of SUV class of buyers. One of the best exterior design includes Projector headlamps, chrome radiator grills, LED tail lamps, stainless steel belt-line are among the many nice touches that make this Rexton’s much ahead with most of the SUV cars. The recently introduced model features a 2 litre diesel engine. This car is the first high-end SUV from the Mumbai-based auto firm. The company has invested around Rs.63 crore at its Chakan plant for this model. The Powertrain generation for the RX-5 MD variant is 162 bhp producing at 4,000 RPM / 340 Nm @ 1,800-3,250 RPM and 184 bhp @ 4,000 RPM/402 Nm @ 1,600-3,000 RPM on the RX-7 variant. A 6-inch entertainment System with GPS navigation, with fully automatic climate control system, 3 preset memory function for the driver’s seat and ORVMs. An Electric sunroof with tilt/open function, Cruise control and many more features of premium segment. The price range for the manual version RX-5 MD is 17.67 lakh and for RX-7 AT 19.67 lakh. The mileage for Rx-5 MD is 9.0 kmpl in city and 12.40 kmpl on highway and for RX-7 AT is 8.0 kmpl in city and 11.18 kmpl on highway.
With all these attracted features and exciting infotainment system that are inbuilt in the new Mahindra SUV Rexton along with powerful engine, hopefully Mahindra Rexton will be able to make a mark on Indian SUV segment.
