New 2013 Honda CR-V crossover for India this Feb

Honda Motor Company Ltd, Japanese giant primarily known as one of the biggest manufacturer in auotmobiles and motorcycles has unveiled plans to introduce ,”HONDA CR-V crossover” in India. Honda has been the world’s largest motorcycle manufacturer as well as the world’s largest manufacturer of internal combustion engines measured by volume.

It is expected that Honda CR-V Crossover will be available with two petrol engine options, a 2 Liter i-VTEC and a 2.4 liter i-VTEC engine. However, Honda CR-V is available with a 1.6 Liter i-DTEC and a 2.2 Liter i-DTEC turbo diesel engines worldwide. The India-spec CR-V could be available in front wheel drive and all wheel drive variants. A 5 speed automatic gearbox is expected to be standard on the Indian CR-V. In terms of Safety measurements, it can be speculated with an automatic transmission now had an overdrive cancel button that allowed the driver to lock the transmission in the first three gears to provide power for passing and climbing grades. The pattern of the cloth on the seats was also redesigned, and the head restrains earned an acceptable rating from the IIHS for whiplash protection. Some of the other features it may include 17-inch wheels, ECON button that maximizes fuel efficiency, steering wheel mounted controls, navigation with voice recognition, hands-free phone capabilities, 60/40 split back rear seat, USB audio interface, moonroof, heated front seats, and DVD rear entertainment system.

The CR-V is Honda’s smallest SUV other than the related Element sold in Canada and the United States, and the HR-V sold in Europe. In size, the CR-V slots between the Element and Pilot, but due to the Element’s discontinuation during the 2011 model year, the CR-V has regained its status as Honda’s entry-level SUV. It might be introduced with a price tag of more than 20 lakhs.

However, not much information has been disclosed yet. It is rumored, Honda CR-V will be introduced in couple of months.
