Even more authentic, from TVS website itself.

So what you hear is true...

You must read this... But does not seem odd due to reversed box on the left.

In the first place why adding such pompoms on a neat looking bike.
But if you ar planning a tour then its fine. Also be aware of the extra drag it would offer at speeds greater than 60kmph.

Bikers Lounge / Re: Royal Enfield 500cc Vs 350cc - which one is better ?
« on: October 11, 2012, 11:05:29 AM »
For me the 350 cc itself gives me good vibrations and literally shakes me a lot. After a long ride, when i switch over to other Jap bikes, damn i cannot feel whether even the engine is running or not.  500 cc would be too much to handle. Maybe i must try newer REs. Lets see...

Hello,

Can you post pictures illustrating the original unit removal and how the new HID unit went into the headlamp assembly. That would be more informative. Just a thought. I think we can work on even small repairs and post it something like DIY procedure.

Hi it is looking good. That is I think CDI first generation RE thunderbird.

Yes it is a first generation TB. It uses CDI based ignition system. And the other prominant feature is the short bottle silencer. The speedo console have attractive lights for neutral, turn indicator and dipper. No gas shocks. And this is the only RE to have RE logo in sticker.

Its an AVL designed engine and has three compartments: gearbox, clutch case, engine sump. Three different oils.
Todays engines are Unit Construction Engines(UCE) having one common oil.
